Description The town crest of Erongaricuaro, Michoacan, Mexico. It features a portrait of the Mara Luisa Martnez de Garca Rojas who lived 1780-1817. She was put to death by firing squad for assisting insurgents and is the town heroine. The dancers on the right are performing the 'Danza de los viejitos' which is also famous in nearby Patzcuaro. The building is the church and semenary. The lakeside is shown with reed and fish, along with various crafts from the towns artisans.
